Susannah and Trevor have a ‘problem relationship’ which requires urgent attention. What better solution than to talk it over with family and friends, preferably in their respective bedrooms – and ideally in the middle of the night. Ernest and Delia (celebrating their anniversary with pilchards on toast in bed), Malcolm and Kate (throwing a house-warming party) and Nick and Jan (invited guests of the afore-mentioned party) find their respective nights turned into turmoil as Susannah and Trevor try to sort out their disastrous relationship. Nobody gets much sleep!
