Bedroom Farce

November 2019

First produced at the Library Theatre, Scarborough in June 1975 and subsequently the National Theatre, London in March 1977, Bedroom Farce is an hilarious play about four couples, set in three bedrooms revealing the ups and downs of their middle-class relationships. Ernest and Delia are celebrating their wedding anniversary, while their son, Trevor and his wife, Susannah are trying to sort out their own marital problems. It’s the night of Malcolm and Kate’s housewarming party to which Nick and Jan are invited, but Nick is nursing his bad back and has taken to his bed. What follows is a night of comic confusion, infidelity, passion, pilchards and a glimpse into the fun and frivolity that takes place behind closed doors.
